What is a Teardrop Caravan and why should you get one?

Why choose a teardrop style camper? It’s always interesting to hear why people choose one of these campers. In this blog, we’ll share a few of the main reasons we see people choosing them and why we love the camping lifestyle.

How do you define our campers? It's a challenging one. Maybe they're camper trailers, teardrops, micro campers, or campers. We sometimes use all these terms and I suppose it doesn't really matter what we call it. What matters to us is the functionality and ease of our travels!

We get a lot of customers telling us that they don't see themselves as 'caravan owners' and we understand where they're coming from. Camping in a tent is our passion, and the teardrop trailer is the perfect setup for those who want to live outdoors while still having a sense of comfort.

Take a look at some of our teardrop trailers from the outside…

…and here’s what’s inside

So here they are, the top reasons people choose a teardrop caravan…

Easy to tow - Our teardrop caravans are lightweight and easy to tow, so they can be towed by most vehicles. Many people do not want to tow large caravans, and they want a setup that will allow them to travel to places that are difficult to reach with a large caravan. If you find yourself in a place where there's no room to turn the vehicle around, you can unhitch the teardrop caravan and spin it around by hand, then rehitch.

Outdoor Living with Indoor Luxury -  The convenience of having an outdoor living space with a kitchen and an indoor comfort of a nice comfy bed with heat and lots of storage space. It gives you the ability to be comfortable in all weather -- in touch with nature at the same time.

Camp anywhere -  Camping in a teardrop trailer is a fun way to access remote places. Teardrops are easy to tow and can be setup on an organised campsite or on your own in the wilderness.

Don’t need to pack everyday - Keep your spot and drive away without packing all your camping gear.  It’s a big problem with camper vans, especially when you don’t have a set site and you're staying for more than one night.

Caravan Storage - Our teardrop campers are compact and require much less space to store than a traditional camper. Some of our models will also fit into a standard size garage.

Off the grid camping - There are many accessories that allow you to customise your caravan to make it perfect for off-grid camping.

It’s like getting into your own bed at home - You can have a roomy bed, like the one you have at home, on a comfortable mattress. Unlike with tent camping, you won’t have to inflate your airbed in the morning, and you won’t have to make it up each night.

Lego Camping - We like to think of our setups as "Lego Camping" since we're able to put together different combinations of awnings, walls and other materials depending on where we're camping, how long we'll be staying, and the weather conditions.

Adventure Equipment - Carrying equipment with a Teardrop Trailer is easy—there is enough storage space in the kitchen and inside to store all the usual equipment you need for your adventures. The caravan can be kept all ready to go with only clothes and food to add for a quick getaway. For carrying more equipment, the front storage box and roof rack systems allow for all sorts of adventure gear to be carried with ease—bikes, canoes, or additional sleeping space with a roof top tent…the possibilities are endless.

Do you want to travel the country, sleeping under the stars and experiencing nature at its most spectacular? Well, teardrop caravans are perfect for you. They're small enough to be moved around with ease yet large enough to house all of your camping essentials. The best part is that they're made from durable materials so even when things get rough out there in the wilderness, you can rest assured that your little home away from home won't give up on you.
