How to Install a Caravan Motor Mover - Hero Robot Trolley

If you're a caravan enthusiast, you know the importance of being able to move your caravan with ease, especially in tight spaces or steep inclines. A caravan motor mover, like the Hero Robot Trolley, can make your life easier. In this guide, we'll show you how to install a Hero Robot Trolley caravan motor mover, so you can spend less time struggling and more time enjoying your caravan.

When it comes to fitting the Hero Camper Robot Trolley, customers often ask if the standard bracket that it comes with will fit their caravan or trailer. The standard bracket is designed to fit onto the draw bar at the front of your trailer and fits in between the two chassis bars as long as they have an open channel in the middle. A good way to see if this will fit is to check out the pictures in our shop for the standard bracket. The standard bracket comes with all the fixings to attach and is simply a matter of bolting together the clamps. The length of the bracket is adjustable to suit different widths between the draw bar (47.5 - 90 CM).

While the standard bracket works for most caravans and trailers, it may not fit if you have solid chassis bars, or if you have multiple trailers to move around you may not want multiple brackets. We have other brackets available to suit different trailers. It's essential to ensure there is enough weight on top of the robot to allow for maximum traction. This is particularly important with the Ball Bracket as that is where the least amount of weight will be. If there is not enough weight on top of the robot it will ride up on itself or not be able to gain traction on looser surfaces.

Another consideration is the height of the tower that fits on top of the robot. All the Robots come with the low tower in the box, which usually suits most people. However, if you have a higher trailer, you may need a higher tower to ensure the robot is well planted on the ground. The higher towers can also be used to provide more height to add more weight to the top of the robot such as on a twin axle trailer if there is very little downwards weight at the front. We offer a medium and a high tower as options as well as a fully adjustable high lift bracket to adjust the height to suit.

Here are the bracket options available for caravan movers:

The Ball Bracket - This is a very simple solution which adds a 50mm ball to the top of your robot so good for use with multiple trailers or an easy solution to connect without having to put a different type of bracket on your trailer. We have many customers using this option, however the trick is having enough weight on top of the robot, so if you have a light trailer this may not be the best option for you.

The Universal Closed Frame Bracket - This bracket allows you to clamp the bracket to pretty much any draw bar as long as you have space for it. The advantage is you can put this as far back as possible allowing for more weight on top of the robot, so a good option if you have a lighter caravan/trailer.

The High Lift Bracket - The high lift bracket is a great solution if you want to be able to adjust the height of your trailer on top of the robot. It is easy to adjust with this bracket and connects onto your draw bar in the same way as the universal closed frame bracket.

The Standard Bracket - The standard bracket is also available to purchase separately if you have an additional trailer you would like to fit one too. Remember this once comes as standard with every robot trolley.

We also offer a Medium Tower, which adjusts from 21-28CM, and a High Tower, which adjusts from 28-39CM, to add more height if needed. If you need advice on what you need, send us pictures showing the front of your trailer or caravan.
